Laura Hetherington has over 20 years experience of learning, theatre and arts education at grass roots and strategic levels. Until April 2008 Laura was Head of Learning for the National Trust where she oversaw the delivery of innovative approaches to learning across the organisation, developed their far-sighted Vision for Learning, developed their Contemporary Arts and Arts Education policies and led on education policy. Laura managed and directed the National Trust Theatre. She was an active member of the Campaign for Real World Learning influencing the Government’s Manifesto on Out of Classroom Learning.

Laura is a trained drama-in-education specialist and has taught drama to all ages, used drama techniques to facilitate learning and team building and directed theatre in education and participatory children’s theatre.
Laura is able to provide advice and expertise as well as training and workshops in the following areas:

  • Using drama and arts to teach across the curriculum
  • Using drama and the arts to develop personal and social skills
  • Using drama, arts and storytelling techniques in the classroom
  • Creative team building sessions
  • Applying storytelling techniques to improve communication

  • Laura will tailor sessions to achieve particular aims and objectives and can provide workshops for teachers and pupils.
